False rape accusations are an anomaly.
True rape accusations are a norm.
You’re, quite literally, more likely to be killed by a comet than falsely accused of rape.
Re-blog now, read later.
"Because 1 in 33 men will be raped in his lifetime, men are 82,000x more likely to be raped than falsely accused of rape. It seems many of us would do well to pay more attention to how rape culture affects us all than be paranoid about false accusers.”
Please don’t spread this. The author’s math sucks, including turning the chance of a man being falsely accused of rape IN A SINGLE YEAR into the chance of being falsely accused IN HIS LIFETIME (see his math here). Also, there’s a petition to get him removed from huffington post because of some of his misogynistic behavior.
I agree that discussion of false rape accusations shouldn’t be used to derail discussions of rape culture, but that doesn’t make it okay to just make shit up.

INTELLIGENCE IS NOT MEASURED IN YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF MATH
Someday the aliens will ask everyone what a Hausdorff space is and those who don’t know will be shot into the sun
And suddenly, life made sense.
Shouldn’t it be 2/3 Pi r^3 ?
Unless here d mysteriously stands for the square root of (2/3 Pi r) …
careers to consider when I finish uni:

- WWII war nurse
- muse for a late 19th century artist
- archaeologist in the 30s
- background character in a Wodehouse story
- incorporeal sense of vague dissatisfaction

For a long time I never really took the men’s rights movement very seriously. This oppressive “no shorts in the workplace” policy has really opened my eyes.
And people ask me why I find these MRAs so pathetically and embarrassingly stupid.
